i recently installed a 4 link rear end on my 52 chevy with a 85 firebird rearend with disc brakes and was wondering if the track bar takes the place of the pan hard rod or should it have both.

Post some pics so we can see what you're referring to. There only needs to be one link that locates the axle laterally. A trac-bar does the same thing as the pan-hard bar.... are you referring to the torque-arm? (the link that goes from the diff. to the trans mount?)

i order a the 4-link kit from totalcostinvovledfor a 52 chevy with an 85 firebird rearend. When i asked fro the pan-hard rod kit to go with it the kit they had was only for the ford 9inch rearend so i would have to find one somewhere else or make one.When the kit came it had an extra bar, so when i started looking through the magazines i seen this complete 4 link kit with a trac bar going from the rear of one link to the front of the other link on the opposite side. A frined told me i needed a pan hard rod also. i figured the pan-hard bar would not work properly with the trac bar. Now i am wondering which of the 2 set ups would be strongest bescause is i can get a way with just using the trac bar it would be better because it would leave me room for my exhaust and spare tire.(http://www.totalcostinvolved.com/pro...cfm?prodID=833) this is the trac bar)

What you have there will work fine, no panhard bar is needed.
Air Ride Technologies sells a diagonal set up similar to the TCI set up you have.
