convert low hump to high
I have this cab out of a 71 cheyenne. Has a low hump with no tunnel bolt on cover. I want to use this cab on a 4x4 frame. Has anyone cut these floors before to be able ti install a 4x4 tunnel cover, and if so, what is best way? ThanksAttachment 332772

Re: convert low hump to high
Its super easy, you can cut along one of the endentions on the floor. Set your high hump in and mark it, then just cut away!!!

Re: convert low hump to high
I cut mine out with the torch when I used a 2wd cab on my 4wd shortbed chassis.I had the cab off the frame when I did it though.I wouldn't of used the torch if the tranny was in it...I put the 4wd cover on,and sprayed some paint around the outside of it so the bolt holes would be marked...You can tell on the 2wd floor where it needs cut out.

I used a chisel and just cut in the recessed line on the floor. Make sure you use a good sharp chisel and you will get a nice smooth cut line.

Re: convert low hump to high
Use a sawzall or jigsaw. Will take a little longer. I used an air chisel when I did mine. Lotsa noise.

Whow, Chisels, Air Chisels, Torches. Yikes. I like how 69k10 used spray paint to mark the holes. Good idea.
