Got Wood?

Anyone ever seen or know of anyone that has tried to make "woody" side panels and trim for the 60-66 trucks? Thought it might be a cool custom idea for my shop truck. I can picture it in my mind,(easy not much in there)and think it would look cool. If anyone has done this already, can we see some pics? Thanks, Jerry

On the interior or the exterior? I've never seen it before, might be interesting.

I dont know if you have more patience than $$$$, but you could probably get it custom painted in a wood grain and make the strips w/out much difficulty. I think it would be tough to deal w/ the curved sides of the truck, assuming you are talking exterior. I saw it done on TV w/ the Boyd Coddington show on a sreet rod. Lot of beeps when they were assembling the panels!!!

Exterior. My truck is a flatbed, so I thought if I used 2 different woods on the flatbed and carried the theme to the side of the cab and frontend it might be cool.

I have a friend that works for a trim place close by, I think they could use their mold planers to duplicate my curves I need and finger joint the corners for the authentic look.

...........wood working technology sounds like what you need......I would use balsa wood myself

My father has an old boat with alot of teak trim. 8-2 inch x 4 ft long strips and several smaller pieces here and there. Thought it might be best for the trim boards, and then maybe use a lighter wood for the centers.
