History of my 68 50TH
Ok here you go STLLOOKN I bought the 68 in 1968.It was'nt new it had 4000. miles on it. The man that bought it new said he did'nt drive it in the rain.this how it look than.
The pictures show the wheels I installed, the original wheels was 3 peace. I put a pickup camper on it a 10 1/2 foot 2550 lbs, and it carried it just fine. I sold the 10 1/2 camper than later bought a 8 foot camper. Than later on I traded that one for a 8 1/2 foot camper. My son and I went to a lot of nascar races in that one plus fishing at the coast. I sold that one and went to a cover. I bought this truck for $2750.00 , with a cover , than sold the cover for $275.00 so I had $2475.00 in the truck. I drove the truck 100,000. miles and sold it to a friend in 1978 for $1950.00, only $525.00 less than I paid for it. Not bad huh. I bought this truck back from the same friend 4 years ago for $1200.00.I don't know how many miles he put on it because it caught on fire and burn the inside of the cab. HE change cabs than lator I bought it. This is how it look when I got it back. Well that about covers it I hope I have answer all question.

Re: History of my 68 50TH
WOW...great story. It has come full circle. Great to get back an old friend and restore it to its original condition.
How well does that gold carpet you purchased match the original? I will be looking for carpet for my truck soon. Had Ricks make me a cover for my dash pad out of the same gold material that was used on the seats and visors. I never thought about painting the dash pad which could also be done. Thanks for the pics and the story. Bob 68327...same story here...3rd owner and 2nd owner trashed my small block Longhorn. My big block Longhorn is a third owner as well but the 2nd owner was a professional bodyman and, other than selling the engine and tranny, he did lots of great work to the truck. Engine upgrade to 454 bored to 460 won't hurt my feelings nor the upgrade to disc brakes and buckets. The rest will be stock.
