You know I need to check the title on the truck. I thought it was a 78 but what do I know.

Lou, sorry it took so long to check out the frame on here. Looks great. Glad to see you take the time to make the little changes that matter. Progress looks good and look forward to hearing from you again. -Amos

Re: For your viewing pleasure
I got the rear suspension in all I have to do is mount the shocks. I'll do that after my milk and cookies.
The 2X4 will give me the space I need for the bars to clear the rails. As you guys can see because of the ride height I had to make stands. Ithink they came out pretty cool. That is it for now I domn't want to bore you guys to much.

Re: For your viewing pleasure
I decided to go with some simple shock mounts 1"X2". Cut one side at an angle weld a scrap piece of 1" .156 wall tubing. I would mount the fuel cell but I'm going to wait till I put the bed on that way I can put it the way I want it. The shocks are from AFCO I chose a set of 150 LBS springs. After all it is a pickup truck .
I have seen in some manuals and magazines that you should not install shocks at an angle greater that 30 degrees. I figure someone might want to know that. I'll build the core support and fuel cell mounts when I mount the body. I'll start a new thread for that.

Re: For your viewing pleasure
you're moving right along on that thing. Looks good!
So why is there so much space above the rear axle and frame rail if you're not running bags? |

Re: For your viewing pleasure
Jlaird, I'm glad you asked that. All that room is for the exhaust. I can't stand running the exhaust in front of the rear wheel. so now I have plenty of room to go over the rearend.

Re: For your viewing pleasure
Man, I go onto google to try and track down why Lou hasn't been on a show in a month (Feb was a busy month for the CST/10 and I, never saw the episode), and I get led right back here! Lou, you were my favorite on the block with your personality. Guess the staff got tired of you messing with their little offices late at night?
Looks really sweet so far. |

Re: For your viewing pleasure
Hey Lou, I see you have a Pro Tools 105 but I don't see any bent round or square tube yet. Do you have any plans for any bent tube on this build?

Re: For your viewing pleasure
I must admit Last week I did a bunch of work to get my web site up and going I got my Core support, Bumper, Fenders and Cowl induction hood fro Classic Industries. I also started stripping the donor. I did find something that I got 2 years ago I had foregotten all about it The 36 inch Lokar shifter.
I think the shifter is going to look pretty sick. I have a cool knob for it. I'll get some more work done on it this week.
