Hey Showme-K-20!!

What part of SW MO are you in? I gather from the post I read that you must be in Springfield.

I live in Granby, which is west of you about 60 miles on highway 60. I'm south of Joplin.

What are the specs on your K-20?

It's always good to see neighbors on the board!

Hi arveetek

I was wondering where you were out there. I'm at Fordland, 20 miles east of Spfld on Hwy 60. I have 6 of the 71-72 model K-20's in various states of disrepair, but my driver around home is an 86 GMC K-2500. It had 2 miles on it when I bought it, now 194,000+. Been thru two 700R-4's, I gave up on those and put a TH350 in it last time. The 350 is getting tired (cam going flat) and I bought an 84 Suburban with a 454 that I'm going to put in. Rebuilding an NP208 to put behind the new TH400 to top it off.
You ever make it to Oklahoma and get those rust free parts? I just went down to a salvage yard on Dec 30 and picked up a bed, couple of cabs, several fenders. I've bought an 84 GMC K-3500 in Illinois that is a rust bucket and had to get a total body.
Let me know if you make it to the fairground to one of the shows or the swap meet. Get together and have a Coke. By the way, I liked the pics on your website.

Cool! Sounds like you're a real truck nut! Me too.

Did you happen to see the pic of the '70 C-10 I used to own? It was a pretty beat up truck, but I liked, and I actually miss it.

I've never done much body work, so I haven't really had a need to get many body parts. My '81 is the only one I've ever had painted. I usually try to buy the trucks with a good body, and just stick with mechanical work. As you can probably tell, I'm a diesel nut. I love tinkering with my diesels.

I was up in Springfield a few weeks ago. My fiance had a shower to attend for a cousin who was getting married. We went to Ozark for supper. Ever eat at Lambert's Cafe? That's a pretty cool place, excellent food!

Lambert's Cafe

Yeah, I'm from Sikeston originally. Norman Lambert, the man that started the deal with the "throwed rolls" was my P. E. coach for 2 years in high school. He was the SHS football coach for several years. I had a girlfriend that I was going to take to lunch there 20 something years ago, but she didn't want to go there because she was afraid she'd get hit in the head with a "biscuit". Typical blonde.
