Re: vin ??

Looks like a white 72 Chevy 4x4 Custom 10 with a 350/350 auto for-sale somewhere in Kansas. Does that help?

Re: vin ??

I always thought "1" was Oshawa, did they use different numbers?
Come on Randy, you already have one white truck, lets pick a different color!

Re: vin ??

Hey Randy Got your pictures. Looks like a nice original truck and the underside is amazing considering the snow and ice on it. I'm sure you have a typo there as it should be a Z instead of a 7 for the 7th digit from the right. That makes it a Fremont, CA plant built truck and there should be at least a build sheet behind the seat springs and maybe one taped to the tank like mine had. Otherwise it says it is a Chevy 4x4 10 series V8 1972 with a factory installed bed and it was built in Fremont CA and I would say fairly early in the model year of 72 by the serial number. I'm sure it was about last half of October 71 built. It was built just 1661 trucks after mine and mine went down the line October 10th. It looks like a very nice one to build up and the color is good too. Mark

Re: vin ??

I'd say that truck has your name on it Randy. You could always find a dealer installed AC unit to keep it period correct. Make a lowball offer. You could always clean it up and make a buck on it if you still want factory air.

Re: vin ??

Randy Try uship.com I sold a pickup(not running at all) to a guy in Wisconsin two weeks ago and he had 5 bids to ship it in two days ranging from $400 to $550. The $400 guy picked it up at my door in an enclosed hauler and delivered to his door all within 5 days from saying go for it. It's an online broker site where you place you load and then you negotiate from there. A lot of one way haulers are using it to fill there trucks on return runs and haul almost anything. Good luck. Re: vin ??

Hope you get it bought Randy! Can you get a pic of the SPID or is it not available? I am still puzzled by the 7, (unless it was in fact a Z).
Here is a pic of a label that has a "1" as the 7th digit, I have a few more like it, Does anyone know if the the 1 or 7 signifies Oshawa?
