Please stop me, I got another one

I went and paid my friend for the power steering pump and box he sold me today. He has a wrecked 72 lwb 1/2 ton, all that is left is the rolling chassie and transfer case. Asked how the swap was going on my 67. I said I needed to do some frame modifications to make it work. He told me to take his chassie and transfer case and make them work. The T-case was just rebuilt when he wrecked the truck. He said if I could sell the T-case just to give him half the money, if not don't worry about it. So now I have a new plan. My 67 Lwb 4x4 3/4 ton is turning into a 67 lwb 4x4 1/2 ton. I will save my 67 rolling chassie and make it a flat bed in the future. The 3/4 ton will make a way cooler flat bed than the 1/2 ton. The 1/2 ton frame is in great shape. I am excited.

This kind of addiction is legal and tolerated. I have yet to here of a cure for it but then again I'm not looking for one either. Good score!

Man I feel like an addict. Couldn't sleep last night, kept thinking of all the possabilities with the new fram. I have to get it today. Need to round up the trailer, a snow shovel (it's buried under 18" of snow) and a couple of comalongs. I'll have pics this evening I hope.

I must admit, I have never had to dig my stuff out of snow (mud and sticker bushes...but no snow) to bring home, this could be an interesting photo preview

Re: Please stop me, I got another one

OK so this sucks. I went out saturday afternoon to get the frame. I got stuck just getting to the thing. I had to leave the trailer on the road, go in 4 wheel drive for about 3/4 mile throught he snow to get to it. I tried to turn around to hook up to the chassie and I sunk. After shoveling and working it back and forth I got hooked up, then had to drag the chassie back through the snow to the road. I was mad and didn't take pictures. Sorry.

Today however was a better day. I power washed it and got it into the shop next to my old 67 frame. Took a few pics.Name: DSCF2088.jpg

Not the greatest pics but after I get done look out. I'm going to try to go in early before work and try to put the motor and tranny and t-case in. Sorry I didn't get any cool pics of getting stuck, but I was a little mad.

Re: Please stop me, I got another one

Glad you were able to get it.

Seems everytime I try something I "think" I need 4WD for, I just end up getting stuck worse than if I tried without it.
