removing leafs
ok i was thinking about removing the bottom leaf to see how it looks. ive already read how to do it but is it reversible if i dont like the look? meaning could i put the bottom leaf back on? not real clear on if anything needs to be cut so thats why i ask. just figured you guys know a little bit more of what you are talking about.

Re: removing leafs
I removed two middle leafs on mine after the 2" drop shackle didn't do enough...the ride is still great unless you get alot of weight in it. I hauled a 5.3L engine in it yesterday and it was really stiff...

Re: removing leafs
To answer your question you might have to replace the center pin if you want to put it back. When you pull the U-bolts and drop the axle down you will see that the springs have a bolt running through them. If you remove the lower leaf that bolt might be to long and you may have to cut it shorter.

Re: removing leafs
Dont just get a bolt, purchase new centering pins from your local auto parts store or off road shop. They are cheap and will work better.

Re: removing leafs
I removed the 2 lower leafs about a year ago and after completing the truck and driving it a little bit i liked the smoother ride very much but now the springpack settled and the rear came down more and the axle hit the bumpstop!Last weekend i put the two leafs back in and the stance is better now but the ride is a little harsh without load!
I had no problems with the centerbolts!

Re: removing leafs
thats why i decided to keep the helper spring because i dont want it to start sagging. yeah i didnt mean actually buying a bolt. if i do it ill do it right since i drive the thing almost every day.
