MAN am I glad I'm leary! WHA!
I recently redid my under dash harness - niiiiiccceeee.... I've been leary about putting it back in after only triple checking it 6 times to sunday. Today I decided to pull the engine harness too just in case.... I THINK I found the problem - the harness was pinched in between the fender and wheel well behind the hood hinge area where you can't see.
This is the harness out and ready to be redone.

And THIS is why I'd receommed rewiring at the top of the list.... that wire in the front WAS the main power coming into the cab! Gonna be a busy day... have to finish sheetrocking/mudding a room and then I can go play.

I found that exact problem, pinched in the same place on my wife's '68. I also found a burnt wire going to the heater blower.
