Another Casualty.
Drving to work at 1:00 pm down th e198 going in to Visalia, CA doing roughly 65 mph a truck2 cars in front of me lost the biggest piece of cardboard I have ever seen. The lexus in front of me managed to stop on a dime as the cardboard flew over him but I couldn't stop fast enough or get around him due to a gaurd rail on my left and traffic on my right. As a result I rear ended him at about 40 mph causing substantial damage to my grille, bumper, hood, and fenders. The lexus fared much better with both tail lights busted and his rear bumper a little roughed up. Fortunately trucker guy pulled over and soon a CHP stopped and the paperwork was started. The only unjury was my left knee smashing in to the the bottom of the dash. Thats how my valentine's day went. Pictures will follow and hopefully repairs will too soon.

Re: Another Casualty.
Glad to hear you are OK. Sorry for your truck. I had a close one in my truck a few weeks back, I was white knuckeled and sweating it. My butt left the seat I was legging it so hard. Manual drums. I've so gotta upgrade.

Re: Another Casualty.
get that knee checked out. I believe you need both in order to walk.
this reminds me of a saying I heard a while back. what's the worst part about ABS? the thought of the car behind you not having it. it is so true. is "cardboard guy" responsible (in the eyes of the PD) or are you gonna get caught with the bill? |

Re: Another Casualty.
So far my insurance is putting all the blame on the cardboard guy since my story and the lexus guy's story match up and everything. As far as what the police report says I don't know yet because it'll be another week or so untill the report is ready. And I got an appointment to get my knee checked out. I got health coverage just in time.

Re: Another Casualty.
fix the knee on the accident insurance NOT your health insurance. and do not sign a release, ever. that way if there is ever an issue later it can be dealt with on their dime.
