Re: my weekend project..... pics finally!!!!!!

there are 17x8 with 4.5" back spacing, all they way around. 225/50 on the front and 255/50s on the rear. My truck is in pieces right now, again. It is going to be tons cleaner and smoother once i get it done "again." Here's a link if you want to check out some of the stuff I've done lately.

Wheel Vintiques sells the smoothies I have, but they are not as cheap as you might think they should be.

hmmm... not sure. I think they do, but when I bought mine I believe it was a "custom" size which put the price of them far out of reach. They were, however, kind of a new thing for them at the time, and maybe the demand has picked up for them... which would have lowered the cost. go to the website it is an excellent website. Download the online catalog it has everything and anything you could want as far as the wheel accessories go.

Re: my weekend project..... pics finally!!!!!!

I like your truck man did a good job on it for the time you spent. id also like to see it with painted white walls. it looks to me as of right now your going for that 50's hot rod feel and i love that look. get the white paint out lets see some white walls!

Re: my weekend project..... pics finally!!!!!!

That turned out great! Now you need to get a little pinstripping done on the tailgate. Money well spent!

Re: my weekend project..... pics finally!!!!!!

Didn't they used to grind the rubber off the tires back in the 50's to make white walls? Seems to me I read that some where. I wonder if you still could.

Re: my weekend project..... pics finally!!!!!!

Like the satin look, and am thinking about doing the same thing to mine until I can afford to do it for real.
Did you cover the dash pad yourself?

Had to throw the 'Vette in there too?
Frame off the '65, got a rock chip, freaked out and sold it. Guy that bought it has kept it like it was except for the wheels and off road pipes when he bought it 30 yrs ago..........I have tried to buy it back many times over the years, no luck.

Re: my weekend project..... pics finally!!!!!!

thanks for all the compliments guys!!!!!
dan, that is exactly how they did it but they also laid some paint on em to keep it fresh.. thats how i'll be doing my tires too!
qkenuf4u, i posted all thats been done to it on the 1st page... its a 490 hp 327,520lb ft tq
crashbob, i did the dash and visors myself but its vinyl paint, not recovered...
even the interior is rattle can, i used some high temp engine paint with ceramic in it as a leveler. that stuff is awesome, thick, bulletproof, and glossy too!!
i'm going to make some new door panels and a custom center console with a 10" jl sub enclosure and a custom shifter... i will start a new thread for those and a how to for the diy interior guys!
yeah, the vette was in the same album, and when i posted the pics all i could see was the pic numbers.. so it made it in by mistake.
