4/5 drop Questions

I have never done a drop before and had a few questions, for the front drop i would need 3 "Dropped Spindles 1" Springs for to achieve 4'' ( is that how it works?). and for the rear i could use a 5'' flip kit like this one.

would i need to notch the frame? or need any other parts for this?

Re: 4/5 drop Questions

You Don't need to notch the frame for a 5" drop. I haven't bottomed out yet.
I bought the same kit.

You must remove your bump stops and the brackets above the axle. I didn't install the ones that came with it either.

Re: 4/5 drop Questions

ECE (Early Classic Enterprises) offers a 4/6 drop kit. I've seen people go as low as 5" in the front. Check out the drop pics on ECE's website and that will help guide you for the look you are after.

ECE builds some great products and know these trucks inside and out. I plan on purchasing the 4/6 kit for my '72, but swapping out the 1.5" drop springs for 2" springs for a 4.5" drop in the front. I've heard that people have ran a 6" drop kit in the rear without putting a notch in. Check out their site...
