SWB/LWB?
Tranny type?
Engine type?
Are the mounted in the correct location?
Are they on the correct engine mounts?
Are they on the correct engine stands?
If an auto, long shaft or short shaft?

Good point LHM. I won't hijack this thread, so I'll wait to hear what BLUZ has.

Re: 72 step side drive shaft

a great way to get a wrong driveshaft is to take someone elses measurements

Re: 72 step side drive shaft

Well, I have the long tailshaft, so I don't know if that would help you or not.
I might try to get a measurment anyway.

I think he's just concerned that his may have an incorrect length and he's trying to get a baseline for what it should be. Of course with it being a short shaft we already know that the trans didn't come in it. If I'm not mistaken he may be trying to work out this leaking tailshaft problem he's been chasing down.

see ten is correct. i realy need to know how far the driveline yoke goes into the tail shaft. mine shaft may need to be longer so the yoke goes in futher.

Re: 72 step side drive shaft

actually, these trucks came with the short shaft TH350's, not long.
My old SWB had a 4 ft 10 inch shaft in it, but there's enough variables, that I would use that as a guide.
