Can somebody give me a break down of the width differences between 67-72 and the gear ratio. Which is best?

Going to need some more info man. Tire size, tranny, planned use of this vehicle? Are you going to use it as a truck, are you looking for MPG's and so forth....

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience, well......that comes from bad judgment.

1968 Chevy C-10 "Longshot": Bought used from my Uncle George in 1994 and proceeding to beat the hell out of it for 4 years. Sold it. Bought it back, dumped an ungodly amount of money into it since then.

plan on running 20's and lay'in frame. 350 power backed by a 700r. not a daily driver just for the weekends.

Re: 68 C10 Rearend

from backing plate to backing plate;
67 - early 70 56 inches
mid 70 - 72 57.5 inches (71 and 72 are 5 lug, 67 - 70 are 6 lug... all 4X4 are 6 lug regardles)

Typical gears found are 3.73 and 3.07, and 4.10 on ocasion.
For the 700 tranny, the 3.73 is generally considered the best ratio for MPG and modorate performance
