spring lift kit options...70 k20
I'm sure its been asked before. I'm looking for a parts house that has shackles blocks and springs for these old trucks... I'm looking to go up 4 to 5 inches... My current front springs are shot and I perfer to replace them with a arched spring. The rears look in good shape. What lift kit companys should I look at? Thanks Bob

Re: spring lift kit options...70 k20
I've been very pleased with Tuff Country front springs, haven't tried their rear springs. I've used their 4" Ez Ride and their 6" HD springs on my 69 K20 and like them both. Definitely worth your time to check out OffRoad Design like mentioned above. They have everything you need.
I'm using their shackle flip on my 69 K20 along with greaseable bushings at all points and their heavy duty front shackles. I've bought both sets of front springs from them for that truck too. I would mention that my 4" front springs weren't matched to well, one had more arch then the other, but can't really blame that on OffRoad Design as the springs are shipped directly from Tuff Country.

I like TuffCountry, too, for reasonably priced off-the-shelf.I front and rear 6" EZrides on a truck and it rides better than any lifted truck I`ve owned.

Re: spring lift kit options...70 k20
When you go to remove your rear factory shackle hanger, I found grinding an x into the rivet and then using an air hammer with a pointed bit in it worked real good. Some people say a good sharp chisel and a well placed hit with a bfh will knock the head of the rivet right off also.
Did you give some thought to the greasable bushings/bolts? Now is the time to do them if your thinking about them. When you get to installing, be sure to post up some progress pics! Also, did you buy a raised steering arm to get your steering corrected. Even with just a 4" lift it is a wise investment.
