Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4's are out there.

Hello from Arizona. New at posting on this board. Just wanted to see how many 60-66 4x4's are out there. K10 & K20 Trucks, Suburbans, Panels or 1 Ton or Larger Napcos, original or converted. First three are pics stored on my computer. Last two are mine.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

Thanks for the pics!
IMO, they may be the ugliest generation of trucks that chevy made, maybe of all the truck makers. But, I love em! They're so "in your face". They say "I'm ugly, but I'm BAD ASS!"
I especially love the 60/61 with the pod style hoods. I wanted one for the longest time!

62 short step, Nice looking truck. What color or colors do you plan on painting it? What does it have for an engine?

I can't make my mind up on colors yet. But I'll tell you what, I like that two tone green and white truck you posted!!. It has a 283, 700r4, np208 in it. Its not a rock crawler, but it does what I need it to do. Whats your plans on your trucks, they look solid!

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

My plans for the long bed are to stay pretty much the way it came from the factory, except for tires and wheels and possibly the engine. It came with a 283 but i might put a 327 in it for towing. I think I will paint it red and white. It has a 4 speed and a rockwell T 221 transfer case that I will stay with since I have three spares. It has factory air and a factory tach. The short bed I have no plans for at this time, but just use it to get to and from work and the hunting trips. It has a 327, 4 speed and rockwell T 221 transfer case. I also like the green and white one as i also own a 2 wheel drive, long bed, big back window truck with the same paint scheme. What ever color you choose I'm sure it's going to look great. Keep up the good work.

Hey Gilbert, were you in Northern AZ back around 1980?I lived in Mountainaire between Flagstaff and Sedona.Did you ever see the two short fleets at Flag Car Wash? One was white and one was black? You can`t beat those Arizona trucks. Here`s the one I had.

Nice truck, what did you do with it? I never saw the two trucks from the Flagstaff carwash. I had a cousin who always talked about them and everytime I went to Flag, I always looked for them. Glad I could help build your picture collection.

Here are a few of mine and the last one is a red '66 Chevy K10 lwb fleet, that my friend Lee and I are doing. We are a few weeks from completing. I started a build thread on the '60-'66 forum, if you want to follow our progress.

Special-K, You should have hung on to that truck. Even in rust free Arizona you don't hardly see any
60-66 4x4's. I'm not sure how you load your pics from a cd back to your computer. It seems like you should be able to name a file and down load them to my pictures?

Tony, Nice trucks. Especially the big window truck. Just my opinion, I think that the big window 4x4's look better than the small window ones, but I like them all, long bed or short bed it doesn't matter. What are your plans for your 4x4's, leave alone or restore? Any plans for body mouldings on your red one? I am following your build on Lee's truck daily. You guy's are moving right along and it is looking better every day.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

I wish I could keep everything I ever owned.I sold that back in`81.There was a real nice navy blue 3/4t GMC w/V6 and big tires that ran the 1st Flagstaff mud bog when I lived there. He had the same tires as me.I ran a`69 Dodge Power Wagon I had.Neither made it far/There was a big hard center,so it was either high-center or get slammed into the side. That thing was a total pit.Guys were breaking up some nice vintage stuff.I took some slides of that.I wonder how to get them on a computer.
I tryed loading that discinto Picasa. There`s 1,500 car and truck pictures. The thimbnails were too small to see.I don`t want to load all them.I`ll get it figured out how to load one at a time.
