Where to buy steering box?

Hi, looking to buy a new power steering box for my 68 truck, I have a used box from a 75 truck that has a little slop in it, but I would like to have a new rebuilt one since I have put everything else on this truck new. Where is a good place to get one from at a good price?

Thanks,
Renegade

Re: Where to buy steering box?

Just installed the CPP quick ratio box in my 71.
It is so loose it is dangerous. I contacted CPP, they recommended putting a proportioning valve in line with the PS pump? The alignment shop I deal with had never heard of this.

I have now found out a local reputable shop that can rebuild my original with a quicker ratio for about the same money. live and learn.

Re: Where to buy steering box?

I got one for my 70 4x4 at Advance. Lifetime replacement and they will honor others prices. I went to thier website got a price cheaper than in store they even honored that.

Any types of shops in particular that usually offer this service? I need to get mine freshened since it looks like my LS1 pump blew out another input shaft seal, and I wouldn't mind going to a quick-ratio box at the same time. If rebuilding mine ends up any cheaper than ordering a new one then it sounds better right off

I met this guy at a swapmeet at Texas motor Speedway a while back.
I have never used their service.

Re: Where to buy steering box?

I think I saw a link on here to http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/ either a series of forum posts, or a tech article on how to rebuild the box.

Give these guys a call - they are in Columbus Ohio and have been around for many years.

They will rebuild your original core, modify it or do an exchange
