hi i got a 327 out of a 62 vette in my truck and im going to be putting a 406 in off of my stand soon.i was wondering what the 327 was worth.it runs very strong.thanks.

I'd have to say anywhere from 1,000$ to about 2500$ depending on the condition.

I'd say more like 3 or $400 if we ran the numbers on your vette motor and found out it came from a truck or a chevelle wagon or something. The power levels of that old school stuff have been surpassed in the last 20 years using vortec heads and things like that to the point that they are yesterday's news --- so unless it is a true , numbers match vette motor and someone has a same year vette to drop it in that'll work with the #'s -- nobody really cares much

Be careful with vette motors -- there are more of them out there than there were Corvettes

everything from camaros, chevelles, impalas, trucks, novas, corvettes, and grain trucks had them

theres actully more NCRS redgistered 67 L88 corvettes out there today, that are CERTIFIED NUMBERS MATCHING CARS... than the ever even produced

yeah, that was a joke.

it seems every time i hear of a 327 it was out of a vette... hence the vette 327 motors out numbering the 327 vette cars..

The correct 327 in the correct car will always have a value greater than any replacement.Not just the Vette 327s are sought after.There were several HP-rated 327s.I agree with the $2-3,000 for the right 327 to the right buyer.You have to realize the "newer is better" attitude has created rarity over the years and only makes the good old stuff more valueable and harder to find.

That is a valid perspective too, and one that i definitely agree with. The only prob may be finding the gentleman who has a correct 62 Vette or Impala SS or something , who will pay top dollar for the correct casting numbers, etc. (then even $3000 might be cheap)

I didnt want to come off as a new school "put an LS motor in everything" conformist. In fact, i almost did a backflip when i saw the Barry Grant Six Shooter (a modern tribute to a classic 3 deuces setup) come out, until i looked at the price

I know,I keep thinking about multiple carbs being cool and so "period performance" for my`67,but simple is better.F/I is nice to "just drive it",that`s for sure.

i got my 327 on craigslist for 400 bucks. it runs great. i would love to build iit up alittle more. what are the casting numbers on it?
