1981 -87 rear axle spring mount flip?

I was told to look at flipping the rear end spring mounts on the axle. They are currently on top of the axle and if moved to the bottom would lower the back 4 or more inches.I know that I would have to add a "C" notch for clearance,,,any thoughts? On the front I will "Z" the frame.I have never done this before and what would be any unforeseen problems? Thanks.

Why do you want to lower the front by "Zing"? You can add 3" spindles and 3" springs and get it down 6" in the front. You can flip the rear with a flip kit from Belltech, DJM, or Western Chassis and get 5" or 6" drop in the rear. "Zing" the front gets pretty involved after all the frame work is done. Hooking up the steering and cab floor reworking to clear the raised tranny will be required. Search over in the suspension section.

Yeah, just keep it simple for now and spindle and spring it, or spindle and bags. You can always Z it later if it's not enough.

You get into stuff like this with a Z'd front end.
