Cool New Idaho Member

Greetings fellow enthusiasts! As stated in the title, I'm from Idaho. I found this site scrounging the 'net looking for deals for my "new to me" 1971 C/10 long bed.

I got all side-tracked reading a thread about installing electric cooling fans (and immediately went out and procured one for myself) and I thought I might as well hang here for a while and see what other ideas I can find.

This looks like a really good place for that to me. The build threads are awesome! The members seem like down to earth folks that I have something in common with, even if it is overly exaggerated pride in their transportation.

As eluded to earlier I just purchased a '71 C/10 long bed. I lost one in an accident a few years back that had less than 100,000 actual miles. It had a 350/4 speed with leafs and manual steering and brakes(all drum). This one has a 350/auto, four barrel, power steering(with tilt), power brakes(disc and drum), coil springs around, and the obligatory rusty sill panels. The windshield is a replacement in excellent shape and the door glass is in good shape also. The rear glass has been replaced with a slider. The seat I think is an impostor. Although I believe it is the right make and year, it is the wrong color. The truck was original green and white, is now all white, and the seat is blue. The rest of the upholstery is green and the metal is white.

I believe the engine to have been rebuilt recently(a compression test may substantiate my beliefs) and fitted with an Edlebrock four barrel(600?) as well as valve covers and air cleaner from the same maker. The front bumper is a not original, nor is is for this make, model, or year. And the rear is a painted heavy duty step type. So I need two chrome bumpers, no two roll pans, no, one of each.....(this is my problem)

So, these are my membership qualifications for your forum. I hope to make a few new friends here and not offend too many along the way(sometimes it just happens, don't know why that is, LOL).

Peace
Out
