There was someone with a gold c10 I think it was a 67?
What years had what trim and the paint colors or codes. What motors and transmissions sizes/types where in what years. Available options on the 67-72 models.

liz what do mean by an outline? like the guidelines?

Re: Next week I have a research paper...

If you click on my cardomain link in my signature, on page 6 I have quite a bit of information about the 67-72 models. It's no where near every make and model offered, but you might be able to find more information there...

I think this is what Liz was talking about....

I. Introduction

II. Body
A. '67's
B. '68's
C. '69's
D. '70's
E. '71's
F. '72's

III. Conclusion

Plan your paper... If I were you I would narrow your topic down from covering all years and focus on a few specifics. Some teachers/professors don't like a vague topic, and some don't like to deep of a project.

When you start writing a paper, you first need to determine where you are going to "head" with the it.... ie, what you're going to talk about.

Here's an easy way to outline a paper

The Intro - tell them what you're going to tell them (give them a basic idea on what topic you are going to write about)

The Body - tell them (provide the information about your topic)

The Conclusion - tell them what you told them (recap your topic, just to stress some points

Example....

Seat Belts

The Intro - Today 9 out of 10 people don't wear..... blah blah blah

The Body - Provide stats, personal stories that drive the topic home

The Conclusion - hit a few key points (stats...)

exactly

I mean what did the teachers ask you to do. A research paper is a very broad term. It can be a few paragraphs to a few pages. An outline is needed to keep your thoughts flowing and the paper well a paper, instead of a rambling.

Dont forget to check the FAQ area, there is tons of info there.

Post up a basic outline and we can help you with links to information and such

I actually pulled the pics from off the net, but be sure to document where you pulled the information from, so you don't get called a plagarist...

Feel free to save a copy of them.

Any topic dealing with classic trucks would receive an A+ in my book....

As long as it's written well.

It is very important to cite all of your sources. You've probably heard of a works cited page, or a bibliography. You may want to check with your teacher and find out how they want the sources cited (if at all) i.e. APA, MLA, Chicago style, etc. I'm quite certain you'll need to use MLA format, but you should check to be certain. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to ask. I've taken several expository writing classes in my lengthy college career and would be happy to help.

Re: Next week I have a research paper...

Lots of schools now use company's that help find out if you plagiarized a paper. In other words, copied somebody else's work.

Give credit to articles that you find and rewrite everything in your own words. Those company's will find articles and papers from all over the world to see if you copied them.

That don't sound real good. They deffently don't want you trying to plagarize

Re: Next week I have a research paper...

Go here for paint codes/chips. http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/

Your best source of information regarding trim levels would be to get your hands on a GM Restoration Packet. It should be free if you're in the US.

Re: Next week I have a research paper...

travis you need to give an idea of who what where when now so we can help..

1st what are the rules to follow for this paper
2nd what topic did you pick to do it on
3rd narrow that topic down cause i know your gonna say something generalized
4th what have you done so far to start this. where have you looked, what have you read? This way we have a little better idea on what you actually need

Re: Next week I have a research paper...

It has to be paraphrased, summarized, or directly quoted from the source. It has to be 8 to 10 pages long. My topic is on 67-72 chevy trucks. I have to have 10 sources; Books, magazines, websites.

Since I have to use note cards I was thinking on having 4 good little topics but don't know what Im going to do though, if anyone has good ideas let me know.

My teacher said she has a program that will show if we did or didn't write it in our own words. All she has to do is type a sentence and if it shows up exactly like you typed or copied, you get a 0 and might fail cause it counts as a huge test grade.

Re: Next week I have a research paper...(updated look inside guys n give some help)

if your going to do 4 sub topics, you can make them a litte broad...something like..

1. engine & drivetrain options
2. interior options (A/C, radios etc.)
3. exterior options (colors, Fleet side stepside)
4. trim levels & packages.

the 4th one is great way to get half into your conclusion with as it will sum up many of the different options you have already explaned through your paper.

let us know if you need specific pictures of specific colors, i know i've got a little bit of a funky color most people dont have anymore.

Re: Next week I have a research paper...(updated look inside guys n give some help)

be sure if you use an exact quote, you say: According to the General Motors Corporation, "The 67 Chevy C10 was the best truck ever made.": for an example, and be sure to state who said it, and put that in your bibliography as well, do as much as you can to not plagiarize.

Re: Next week I have a research paper...(updated look inside guys n give some help)

first thing is not to freak out, you have a wealth of information at your fingertips here.

read this
http://www.aresearchguide.com/1steps.html

then start searching the topics starting one at a time. look in the FAQ area, gmcpauls site, look up books in amazon.com and go borrow them from the library. Ask specific questions in new posts here.
Im sure if you do a post asking where you can locate information, folks would be more then happy to help you out. Just dont expect anyone to do it for you, and do not freak out about it. Research papers are alot of work, and seem scary when its the first one you do. If you put effort into finding the info you need, it will go easy.

search engines are your friend. use different terms and read alot.
