Found another truck

i found a 1982 Chevy Stepside SWB with a 350 motor bored 20 over and a th350 trans bed floor is rotted out body is in decent shape with rust in the rockers and cab corners, he is asking $1000.00. What would you do? Wife is OK with it. Has new 3" exhaust with flowmasters.

It all depends on the extent of the rust, what direction you want to take with the truck and your ability to fix the body issues.

If you are just going to pick up another bed ($250-500) and weld in new corners and rockers ($100-200) then you may be ok. If you have to get into doing the firewall, cab mounts, bedsides, etc. then it may be cheaper to find a truck with a good body and just buy an engine/trans for it.

Like my buddy and I were saying the other night...every time I have the money I have no time, when I have the time I dont have any money...rarely do they both come at once.

sounds like this may be a bit of work but if the motor is a fresh rebuild, the motor is prolly worth several hundred and with the rest of the parts it sounds like its pretty reasonable maybe you could talk it down some tho..
