4 speed to a 700r

I know there is a thread on here that deals with this swap. I have a 1970 k10 with a granny 4 speed. I have a 700r and a doner 67 c10 auto. I know I can't get everything I need from my parts truck but I need some idea of what I need overall and a hint on how to install. Thanks

Parts:

Trans
Torque Converter
Flexplate
Shifter (Column or Floor)
TV Kit
Trans cooler
Cooler lines
Auto crossmember
Trans mount

Do a search and you can find a ton of information on this swap including some good how to stuff.

To put a 700r4 in a K10, you need all the above plus:
editIf you already have a NP205 you don't need the trans mount and crossmember. The crossmember you have will work. Chevrolet put the same crossmember in the same place on all 67-72s that came with a NP205. Your new adapter will bolt to that crossmember. Again this is only if you already have a NP205.edit
28 spline input shaft NP205 transfer case
NP205 to th350 adapter
Advanced Adapters "700r4 inplace of a th350" output shaft

If you already have a NP205 your driveshafts are ok.
Drop off your 700r4 and Advanced Adapters output shaft at the transmission shop. Tell them you want it rebuilt, leave the tail off, and put in the AA output shaft.
Take the engine out.
Remove the tranny, adapter, xfer case.
Bolt 700r4, 205 to th350 adapter, and NP205 together.
Install above assembly in truck.
Move engine cradle forward almost 2 inches.
Re-install engine.
Drive truck.

If you don't already have a NP205 I'm not sure what you're going to need to do about the crossmember and drive shafts.

Re: 4 speed to a 700r

How do I identify what transfer case I have? I have the auto tranny radiator and a trans cooler.

Re: 4 speed to a 700r

The 700R I have came with a transfercase on it can I use that or do I want to use the one in my truck? I have to check to see if they are the same.
Thanks for the help everyone. I will take pics when I start tearing her down.

The newer xfer case probably has different outputs to hook to driveshafts but I'm not sure. It also probably mounts to the truck differently than a 205.

A lot of new transfer cases are made out of aluminum. A buddy that used to live in Wyoming wasn't real fond of aluminum xfers out there because you hit a lot of rocks when you are up in the hills. Rocks make holes in al transfer cases.

Pics of a 205 can be seen in:
