what size tire should i run up front
i just finished installing my disc brakes and drop spindles on my truck this weekend but when i aired it out the tires are hitting the outside of the tire pretty good, right now i have 275/60/15's all the way around so what size should i put up front to remedy this? oh also there 73-87 4x4 rims if that helps

Re: what size tire should i run up front
I put some 235/70-15's on the front of my "work" truck (Same height as the 275/60-15). They are a little skinny on the 8" rallies but they are much better as far as clearance issues go.

Re: what size tire should i run up front
Since you have 4x4 rims, I would go with some 42" swappers.:lol
How much is hitting? You may be able to fit some 255/65/15's in the front. They are also in the same range you are in now. If not, the 235's should work. |

Re: what size tire should i run up front
quite a bit is hitting i can tell the bag isnt fully deflated, i think i need a less wide and a lower profile tire if that makes sense but i dont known how tire numbers go

Re: what size tire should i run up front
The first number is the width of the tire, the second number is the sidewall ratio or height and, obviously, the last number is the rim size.
The 275/60-15's measure 28" tall. Here are some examples of BFG Radial T/A's that might work 235/70-15's are the same height (28") but are much narrower. 245/60-15 are not quite as narrow as the 235's but are only 26.6" tall. All kinds of options with tires... You will probably spend hours searching, I know I have.

Re: what size tire should i run up front
The 245's should look pretty good on 8" rallies. It's a good compromise... just a little narrower and slightly shorter which should help with your clearance issues.

Re: what size tire should i run up front
Now that you have the dropped spindles, I think the 245's will cause some draggin issues with the lower control arm.

Re: what size tire should i run up front
235/60/15 front or both
275/60/15 rear works on a bagged C10 well. Last edited by camaro__thunder; 03-27-2008 at 09:44 PM. |
