New wheels/tires on truck!

Thanks to all who helped answer all of my wheel/tire questions. Here are some before and after pics. The truck got wheels first instead of paint/body becuase I had to get new ones anyways due to dry-rot. The 406sb is coming along nice as well and after I install the engine, the truck will get lowered!

Looks great! It is amazing what a difference a new set of wheels and tires can make.

Re: New wheels/tires on truck!

Thanks for all the positive comments! Houp, the old tires aren't worth keeping and I will probably hold on to the wheels in order for a spare/winter set.

Now I gotta measure the distance from the wells to tires to see what it's gonna take to level/and take that dead space away. I plan on towing a car trailer with the truck when I move so I think I'm going to have to bag the back. It's that pretty much the going consensus for lowered trucks that see occasional tow duty?

Man that's nice. What a difference by just changing the wheels.

Re: New wheels/tires on truck!

The combo is 17x7 with 235/50/17s up front with 17x8 255/50/17s in back. The tires are the Kumho Ecsta ASXs. The fronts have a little tuck and the rears fill the back pretty well.

I got such a good deal on the two front wheels that I couldn't pass on it. Although they are considered to be on the narrow side, but I think the truck sits pretty good on them and I'm happy with the upgrade.

Re: New wheels/tires on truck!

Truck looks great as is (at its stock ride height) with those wheels. It would look sharp a few inches lower also - your choice.

The only problem is those pretty new wheels make that back bumper lokk duller than ever

Re: New wheels/tires on truck!

Yeah, that bumper was one of those dealer specials that my great-aunt got when she bought it new...It goes after I pull the bed off to coat/paint the frame....
