Re: 68 limited edition

it may have all those options... but the limited edition is his own wording to jack up the price.
Ask him to show you documentation of this limited claim.

Re: 68 limited edition

I reckon they're all "limited editions", in that they don't make 'em anymore. Best I can say is that "Limited Edition" is a manufacturers selling point. For example, when FoMoCo built a run of Mustangs to celebrate the Millionth Mustang, they built some that were trimmed "in limited editions" so yours wouldn't look like everyone elses. For example, the Sprint version was powered by a 6, but nicely appointed. In that respect, it is limited to the number that were made in that trim level.

Don't let some hype fool you into believeing that it is one of a kind. It may be, but there should be some documentation to accompany it, like a letter from GM that the original purchaser would have had enough foresight to save and keep with all the original paperwork. When these trucks were new, I don't think the buying public, nor the dealers, would have or could have foreseen what we would be doing 30-plus years down the road.

Now, if you happen to run across the '68 LWB that GM built and that was part of the display with a Camaro and a trailer to haul it on......THAT is a limted edition!

Re: 68 limited edition

The only true 67-72 truck classified as a "Limited Edition" is the one without rust!!! hehehehehe
I've seen some with "corvette emblems--limited edition BS".
The best indicator is either an original bill of sale, window sticker or the build sheet on the glove box door. If none of those say anything about a limited edition--then it's basically a BS story. Now finding a 67-68 truck with a lot of options is great---and if someone wants to call it a limited edition---who cares as long as they want to sell it cheap!! THAT'S WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR!!! Huck

Re: 68 limited edition

Not a limited edition, but a one year only GMC 50th Anniversary edition, should be gold and white with gold sunvisors, and gold dash pad. Nice find depending on the money he wants for it.

Re: 68 limited edition

72Army...except a 50th Anniversary GMC would have been in about 1950 (when the first truck was built) or 1952 when the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company was incorporated. It was later purchased by GM.
