Re: Carpet Manufactures

The color fastnest is what keeps us away from ACC and I just don't only sell truck carpet, so we use who works best over a large number of vehicles. If ACC gets the color problem fixed permanently, we would consider them.

Exclamation Re: Carpet Manufactures

The fit of the ACC is fine, but their dyes are garbage. Don't even think to leave the truck in the sun for long..

Re: Carpet Manufactures

Here what i found about the dimmer switch from stockinteriors.com

"
My car has a dimmer switch on the floor. Will my new carpet have the same dimmer switch hole?
The auto carpet kits for cars with a floor dimmer switch will come with a Grommet and instructions for how and where to punch the dimmer switch hole. Making your own dimmer switch hole will allow you to make sure there is a perfect fit, and that the carpet is placed perfectly for your individual car.

Re: Carpet Manufactures

FWIW, I bought an ACC carpet for my '68 a few years ago and while the fit and color look great, my only complaint is that the grommet hole is off which is pretty standard for these replacement Camaro carpets.

Re: Carpet Manufactures

Trim Part's custom molded carpet

I just finished installing mine this weekend and couldn't ask for a better fit. The dimmer hole I cut myself and placed the gromet around it. I like the fit just have to let the wrinkles come out after awhile.
I got the capet for the gas tank removed. It goes all the way up the backside of the cab about 4".

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Carpet Manufactures

Did you have to cut the monting tabs off where the tank attaches to the floor?? I also go the tank removed option. Seems i got a head of my self, i don't have the tank removed quite yet.

Re: Carpet Manufactures

Is there anything to letting it warm up, like laying it in the sun, before you intall it to help with the wrinkles issue?

I once bought ACC carpets for my '67 Firebird, when ACC was still owned and run by Jack Holland ('83). I was very happy with what I got and how it went in. Don't know if it is still done, but they threw in two pre-cut pieces to fit on the lower part of the door panels, too.

Re: Carpet Manufactures

It sat in the garage for two weeks. No extra here. I didn't cut nothing out of the tank area.

Re: Carpet Manufactures

Work was WAYY too long knowing UPS left me a gift on the porch. I went with the Charchol rather then black. The flash made it look alot lighter then it realy is. The fit looks good. I rubbed on it for a minute or two and it looks like the edges around the kick panel are going to line up just right. Like i said before i havn't got the tank out yet, but next day or two and it'll be in the junk pile. I'm gonna leave it sit just like it is untill tommorow. The heat about noon should relax it to its right shape for sure. All in all i'm happy. Just made everything else look like crap. The carpet was the last red in the cab. Need to paint the column for sure. I pulled and painted the AC vents and heater box just a second ago with the dash preped and primered. This new carpet is the push i needed to button it up.
