Re: My 70 LWB build thread

Wow, this thread really opened my eyes to a few projects that Ive been thinking about. Excellent build and documentation, its gonna be SWEET!

I have a few questions.

1) Your frame stiffeners- Can you give me the dimensions of them? (height/thickness). I can just order the c-channel myself and cut it down - or I may be able to find some at my dad's metal shop. I've been meaning to do this for a long time.

2) Your trailing arms- Im converting my 72 swb from leafs to trailing arms pretty soon. Im pretty sure I can make my own cross member and arms, although all I know about this type of suspension if what I have seen in pics.
Could you give me the dimentions of the arms you made, as well as how far from the rear of the frame the cross member should be? How do you go about securing the rear to the top of the arms? Only a U bolt?
It seems pretty self explanatory about welding the spring perches to the top of the rear end, but what does the perch on the underside of the frame look like?
Lastly, where are you going to mount your shocks?

Sorry, I know im requesting a lot of information. I'd be hapy to paypal you a few bucks for your troubles! It will be a few months before I tackle this, I just want to start getting information together.

Thanks man! Its really appreciated!
