doing a 200 4R (my preference honestly) would still require all that, but you could use the driveshaft out of a, inline/TH350 truck... not an easy find.

A 3 on the tree is almost exactly the same length as a TH350. The yoke is the same also. A 200R4 is very close to the same length so with those 2 a driveshaft chop and longer speedo cable may not be necessary on a LWB. Those are about the only 2 things I didn't have to change on my SWB tranny swap.
