New AMP
Installed a 400 Amp temperarly for the stereo today for the 2 10" subs behind the seat. It has some kick to it now, not a thumper but nice clean bass for those OLD ROCK songs I just burnt for the ride down. 60 minutes on each disc and I did 6 disc.
Molly hachet,Grand Funk Railroad, Boston,Kansas,Steppen' Wolf, Doobie Brother's,Eagles,CCR, I got a little bit of everything. I even threw some Brooks & Dunn in the mix too! I have new carpet on order and plan to replace it after this show. I'm picking it up and some other stuff at the show. So when I get back I'll do a complete install with the seat's out. I take pictures then.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is probably in the Guiness Book of World Records for being the most misspelled band of all time... LOL
And yes, I am a SIMPLE MAN!

Re: New AMP
thank you for correcting the spelling for one of THE best bands ever. Triva for those who don't know, many do. They named their band after their grade 10 PE teacher Lynyrd Skynyrd

Re: New AMP
Yes I do have Lynyrd Skynyrd also. They where the first concert I ever went to in Charlotte NC when I was 14. I went with my older brother and his friend. Lead singer fell off the stage and didn't even get one song finished.
I can't remember who it was but the lead singer for Marshall Tucker I think sang the rest of the songs for them that night. That was a disappointment. What's that smell in here!

Re: New AMP
Got both 10" subs hooked up and now I'm going to hook the 3 ways I have under the seat up to it and have the 2 tweeter's and 2 speaker's under the center dash up to the old 100watt amp. They should sound good after that.
New AMP is 100 watt's per channel Old AMP is 25 watts per channel

Re: New AMP
I'm not going to take pictures until after the car show next week at the beach. I have to pickup my new carpet and then I will take some as I redo the inside of the truck. This install is just to make sure it all works out OK.

Re: New AMP
Hey Andy,
Not to get off topic from our spellings of Lynert Skynert... er, uh, u know what I mean! But are those 3-ways really under your seat? The only problem with that is that high frequencies will have a hard time getting through that foam, and high frequencies are very directional, meaning the closer they are to pointing at your ears, the better. You might try putting them in the rear corners of the cab. It's still not optimal, but might allow you to get some more of that classic guitar and hi hat to your ears.

Re: New AMP
Sub forum...yea right.
There ant no traffic over there! Yes I know this about the three way's. I also have tweeter's in the corner of the cab right at my ear's and I mounted two 4" two way's in the dash above the radio. It sounds pretty good so far but haven't drove the truck yet. When I do the inside in a couple of weeks I'll do a whole thing on the install.

Re: New AMP
So that is a good reason to post in the wrong place?
If you post in the right places, the traffic will naturally more to where it belongs. Posting in the wrong place....will get your post moved. |

Re: New AMP
Pictures of the perment install of the sub enclosure and amp. I bought the grey carpet and covered the front panel. I had to move the amp after I got the passenger seat in because it wouldn't let the seat go back fully. Oh well!
You can see in this picture that the passenger side seat want go all the way back. I have a 6' son and that just wouldn't do! Ha!!!!!

Re: New AMP
It sounds great for what I wanted. I'm not a thumper but it does Kick when playing Brooks & Dunn.
