Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

Here's mine. Given to me by the original owner along with tons of paperwork including the original owners manual in the sleeve and the warranty manual and protect-o-plate. 71k miles, never wrecked just a little rusty! Just installed a Muncie M20 behind the factory 250 inline 6. Odd combo but I hate column shift!

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

Well I got bored and busted out some sand paper. I personally hate body work and hate sanding even more. Since my right door has some major paint peeling issues I decided to try and create some patina on the drivers side. Looks fake to me but what do y'all think? And please be honest with your answers, I want to know whether I should add more or do less on the passenger side. First the pass side door and the rest I helped along.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

I wanted to post a photo of the 71 GMC Custom I brought home last month. I thought it might qualify for this thread, because it has some great patina and door logo's painted the day it was delivered. When I found it, it was parked across the street from the selling dealership Lynch Cadillac Pontiac GMC, in the parking lot of the furniture store who bought two of them that year.It was parked behind a semi trailer used as storage since 2000. I first asked about it in 1992,but the answer was always NO, so when I was told it was "available" I almost did not know what to say ? Anyway I had the Chevy dealership one block away flat tow it home for me instead of playing with it in 30 degree weather and a 30 mph wind. The owner of the furniture drove it and it seldom carried anything more then a LazyBoy. I feel honored to have an opportunity to bring back a piece of local history to our small town. Plans are to keep looking "As Is" with a overhall on a as need basis. Complete fuel system overhall got it running so far, with brakes next. thanks for looking guy's PS:she has almost no rust at all except on surface of hood and cowl ?

Cool truck, bullitt. A CLR bath would work wonders- bet there's still a lot of factory paint/primer hiding in all that surface rust

You buy a rusted, original truck.

Fauxtina is kinda lame IMO. You can't fake character.

Hey thanks. It's not looking very good right now, it was probably a bad decision to list it this week. It's a want to sell not have to deal so we'll see.

ultrahd, I saw your blue truck on CL and couldn't stop staring at it for about ten minutes. Both trucks are very nice. Bullitben, yours is awesome too.
