Front end alignment question
I am somewhat in a bind here. I changed my tie rod ends and center link, taking careful measurements etc. etc. My front end seems to be fairly close in alignment. My problem is I can't find anyone here in Japan to align my front end. I have been told that if I take measurements on my front and rear tires, and if the front is 3/8 to 1/4 inch toe in, I should be fine. After taking measurements I find that my front end is exactly 2 inches wider than my than the rear. Is the info I received about alignment (3/8 to 1/4 toe in) correct and is the front wider than the rear. Also could someone snap a picture of their tie rods and center link, so I can make sure my clamps are in the right position.---Thanks David

Re: Front end alignment question
Hope this helps, You need to measure across the front of the front tire , and than measure across the rear of the front tire. The front should be 3/8 to 1/4 " less than the rear of the front tire which gives you a toe in.

Re: Front end alignment question
From what point are you measuring? I have always heard that you want ¼” to 3/8” difference measured from the lip of the rim (front and back). If you are going out to the edge of the tires, this measurement will get more extreme due to the fact you are dealing with angles. Just something that I have been told...

Re: Front end alignment question
David, don't they have an alignment rack on base at the auto hobby shop? I have one here in Sasebo. I would think they'd have all the stuff we do.
