Re: What did you get done? 05/04
this was a great weekend for trucks and the auto enthusiast (well ok for me anyway)
first of all we went to JC's party on saturday which was a board meet on a small scale. several of us and one of my buddies went and had a great time. I sold alot of crap from my basement and all went well with the truck Today we went to the antique car show at SI college and ive posted pics on that in General discussion . I found out about alot of upcoming car shows and afterward wife and i went to the auto parts store and i bought a edelbrock air cleaner for the truck All in all i had a great weekend

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
Went to the Lawrence, KS swap meet to hook up tcb-1 with some 15"x8" wide steel wheels for his truck. Then drove to the Lake of the Ozarks' "Magic Dragon Street Meet" car show. Had a great time,... and there were over 700 QUALITY cars on site. Several Magazine featured cars. I highly recommend this show as one of the top Missouri car shows. (all models of cars, trucks, and motorcyles allowed) Cleaned up my s10 and Silverado trucks today. Ended the day grilling some burgers.

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
Had a great weekend!
Had drill all weekend, however, was able to sneak off to the swap meet here in Des Moines to quickly purchase a wonderfully solid 1977 bed (short) for $350 for my 1979 GMC. Now I've got to figure out how I'm going to get it home from 2 hours away. The past two nights I've been refinishing my console. Finally found the right color to match the original. Here's a couple of picks of the console. I used the link from Jeff's site to guide me through the process, thanks Jeff. Don't mind the tiny spider crawling across the front, the paint was dry. Mike

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
Fri... pulled the steering column out of the 74 to get rebuilt.
Sat... went to a small local show @ my buddies church. Today I messed around w/the chassis wiring on the 74 as it was a mess. I'm still trying to figure out the requisite trailer wiring.

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
Made a junk yard run and picked up some cab trim with the clips and a hood. The hood was there 3 weeks ago, I didn’t have a way to get it home, it was still waiting on me Saturday morning. Also gave my bent ugly front bumper a coat of rattle can primer to dress it up while I wait to get a new chrome one.
Here’s my loot sitting on the new hood………………………..

Took mother-in-law to a nice brunch for MOthers Day at Manor Tavern here in the rolling countryside of Baltimore County, MD. She'll be on vacation for real Mothers Day, so we set it up early, and I scored some big-league brownie points!

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
I went to the junk yards Friday afternoon after work until they closed. I found some good stuff! Ok...used stuff that I will make work. LOL...I spent Saturday and Sunday cutting out a rust hole the size of a quarter and replacing it with some good metal from my old inner fenders. A pain in the butt as it was directly in the middle of the windshield right under the seal. After I finished that I primed and painted the entire windshield frame and cleaned up and painted the firewall! I took apart and cleaned and painted most everything htat I hadn't before. I should be putting the front clip back together this week and have it on the road by the weekend (at least that is my goal)!! I didn't get many pictures but here are a few.

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
Beat the spindle bushings out of the Allis, looked at a lathe (junk), mowed the lawn. Did get to drve one of my trucks. Wifey told me "no more parts". Guess I'll have to 'move some metal' to make room for a new toy.

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
did nothing on my truck...it's at my buddies shop getting some dents and dings filled in and primed.
My mom was in town so i took her to the Seminole Hard Rock for lunch, stop to gamble a little, i dropped $20 in a machine and $736 came out. Gave my mom $100, gave $100 back to the Seminole tribe and left about $500 up. With the winnings i bought a new 1405...decided not to rebuild the other one i had, would have ended up costing almost the same as a new one. My buddy built a floating beer-pong table so Sat we sailed it in our pool...about 10 people showed up we consumed about 6 cases of beer. I spent 5 consecutive hours in the water...not including bathroom breaks.

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
took the slug out for a spin around the block to get the timing dialed in and check the tranny out. all worked good till i let it sit in front of the house and idle. the electric fuel pump just kept building pressure till it flooded the carb out. ordered a by-pass regulator today and it should be in weds. went and watched powerboat races with the kids sat and sun. last night my brother decided to give me a early 30th b-day present and he started on a big azz tattoo that goes from quarter sleve all the way to my back.

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
Had a very good weekend.
New tranny and clutch in my 53 chevy car. New starter in the truck. Used truck to haul a engine for good friend, straight 6 of course 235 for his 52 chevy. Washed all the cars mowed the lawn on Sunday. It only rained on Saturday. Truck has been nickel and dimeing me to death. I give it new shoes and its still not happy. |

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
My front clip arrived on friday, the 77's gonna have round headlights again. Got the double hump trans crossmember I made installed. Worked. Went to my brothers and nephews b-day party. Fishin must be in my 4 yr. old nephews blood. I got him a fishin pole and he was castin it real good within 10 minutes. Shot off a rocket for the kids a couple times. Cut the rockers off the drivers side (yeah I said rockers) of my stepper and welded a new one on. I really should be takin pictures of all that stuff...

Re: What did you get done? 05/04
Had wifes birthday party this weekend, picked up a bunch of stuff for my nieces grad party, mowed the back 40 for about 5 hours(man we need sheep or something lol) and spent a couple hours blowing over $1000 in doors and trim to finish our house (still about $2000 worth to get probably. . . will it ever end lol).
As far as the truck goes, it's still sitting behind the barn, got rain washed, and still needs the batteries charged and fuel line fixed so I can drive it. I haven't driven the thing in probably over a year, except in September last year when we moved. The wife always asks why do I want to bother fixing it when we have other vehicles to drive, but the trip to Lowe's did it for me since we had to borrow my father-in-laws truck AGAIN, lol.
