What are you guys doing with your glove box's? Replacing the original paper type, what are you using?
Mine is a little hammered and I'm looking for some cool ideas..... Photos plEaZ. Thanks guys for your input..... I just want to add that this site is just Super BadAss, what makes it that way are the super cool folks that post up! (all we need now is a 12step program for the addiction)

Take your hands off the keyboard........ and step away from the computer!
Gotta give people time to reply! I agree about the addiction part. I have to check this board the MOMENT I wake up in the morning, lunch time, evening... any other "free" time I might have... Sorry I don't have any ideas for a glove box.

Re: Glove Box
LMC makes a cardboard replacement for both AC and non-AC. It was pretty cheap I think... works well.

Re: Glove Box
im considering taking some sheetmetal and making a face behind the glovebox door, then mounting a cd changer inside it. I want the cd changer on the top, and then underneath it i want to cut out a rectangle and box it in, for cd, insurance and ect storage.
also on one side of the cd changer i was going to install a battery cutoff switch. |

Re: Glove Box
kelsfine69, awesome idea.. Tell us how you made it- or did you have it done?
I've been replacing these cardboard boxes on my two trucks for combined 35 years! I believe 4-5 of them total. Yeah, they're cheap, but I've been toying with the idea of a plastic replica or even a sheet metal. Just don't like the carboard look. I'd rather go with plastic for the noise factor, though. With no storage compartment, mine get a lot of abuse with paperwork, tools, flashlights, exra keys, etc.. |

I made them. I work in a sheet metal shop so some times I get bored. Heres some more...

Re: Glove Box
I took a soggy torn up one, and removed it, unfolded it and traced it out on thin sheet metal, cut it out, folded it up, and painted it black.
Mine didn't come out nearly as nice as this one; Looks like a brake was used on that... but it came out pretty good IMO. I also placed a thin sheet of rubber on the floor of it to prevent the stuff in there from ratteling and driving me crazy. (short trip for me) |

Re: Glove Box
WOW! I was thinking maybe a plastic replacement and a few links, but the metal one's above look awesome, those are awesome ideas. I especially like LongHorns idea, it's something I can try to do myself, but I will admit, I do suck at sheet metal work...
Those are awesome glove box idea's, you cats are very creative!!
