I work at GM dealer but parts guy is not able to locate these older parts without the #'s they no longer have the pre 82 microfilm or books.

I need the cancel cam for tilt
I need the upper steering column bearing, for tilt
I need the upper thrust washer(wedge washer) for tilt

Re: part number help tilt column 72

Frankel GMC Owings Mills .

I belive I found the issue looking here http://www.americanclassic.com/asp/d...=1972&ytype=to

It looks like my tilt column has a non tilt bearing assembly in it as it does look like its been serviced but it is just to small of a bearing for the housing.
If I don't get a definate GM part number for the correct one I will just order it there and roll the dice.

If your up this way drive your truck I would like to see it

Re: part number help tilt column 72

I have alot of suspension work and bolt ons only with 100 shot. car looks dead stock my best run was 11.02 @ 121 not bad for 128,000 and never had a valave cover off. I know I need to replace valvesprings and timing set soon but it runs so good I don't want to f-with it.
