Re: What side is the oil dipstick?

IM not sure what year it is that changes either but I just finished a moter swap on a 84 K20 and the old moter was on the passengers side but the doner moter was on the drivers side and it was a hassle,I had to get diffrent exhaust manifolds because the ones on the 84 dumped right where the dipstick goes on the drivers side. I had to buy a oil pan gasket for a 78 to get one that had drivers side stick,79 did not. What color is the moter in your truck, that is a quick indicater of year.67-72 should be chevy orange.

Re: What side is the oil dipstick?

IDK but on my zz4 block it says there is a port on both sides but the only one I've found is on the passenger side and lower than the standard ds one. Sucks cuz I bought the short billet dipstick before I figured it out.

Been there done that, except from the opposite perspective

The tubes are also different size diameter between the two sides also.

Re: What side is the oil dipstick?

My dipstick tube definitely doesn't seal well. Is there supposed to be an o ring on it or something?

A little rust never hurt anyone. I consider it weight reduction.
