And I agree, 16.5k is pretty cheap for what that truck is. Look at some of the ones on ebay and they aren't half as nice and people are asking for more.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
Personally, 16.5 is dead on if not a little low. THe details could be cleaned up, but the fab work involved in at of the modifications such as the fuel door take time and skill to achieve. Which amounts to money in the end. Maybe some feel the Lt1 is too old now, but when he put it in it may have been the ls2 of the time, as well as the wheels were in fact in style. I remember stuffing a '96 LT1 with a six speed manual in a '95 S10 back in 2000. That was still a "new" engine and cost me a pretty penny. Everyone has a price they think is fair, but I agree with mike. Until you build a few of these things buy hand yourself it is hard to put a price tag on things.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
I'd like to know how he got the compressor and the alt. on the same side. I also have an LT1 in my 67 and I'm catching the devil trying to figure out how to run my a/c lines being that the stock compressor on those engines are at the bottom .

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
Correct prices:
eBay: $16,500 Barett-Jackson: $33,000 His asking price might seem a little high, but I can guarantee you , he's got more than that into it, and if he doesn't, he did everything himself. The bottom line is, it's a damn nice truck. The motor might look a little goofy, but LT1's are no joke. And if you have $16,500, I'm sure the guy would let you put anything in there that you wanted!

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
70 rs/ss said it all.
I could probably buy the truck and do some work and detail work on it. Bring it to Texas and make some money off of it. I just finished a 67 swb fleetside for a guy at work and i have almost $6000.00 in it. He just wanted it a driver where he could take over and have paint and bodywork done. And it looks like S..T. I just took some pics. the last few days. I think i will post them to see how much hell i will catch. And i have probably had about 40 of these trucks in some sort of driver quality. From work trucks to frame offs. So i know how much they cost. I sell new and used parts also. So it is not like i have to buy retail. New bumpers alone went up about $20.00 dollars each. It takes a lot more to build a truck today than last year for sure. Just my two cents.

Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
Let's see: $ 16,500, Huh ?
I've got about half that much in mine right now. And my ride appears to be only about a fourth or maybe a third as nice (being generous to mine) as that one looks to be. Let me sharpen my pencil stub & do some math ......... Yep, if mine ever does get to to where it looks that good, I believe I'm gonna come out "ahead," if it's a money-spending race. Re: check out this 71 cheyenne
I saw this truck at a cruise in tonight and it is super nice!
Oh.....and the belt isn't on backwards either. It goes around some of the pullies with the ribs facing the pulley and some with the slick side facing the pulley. Again, Super clean and probably well worth the asking price. |
