Re: 1972 Blazer 5.3 E85/ NV4500 5spd 4x4 Build
I'm getting ready to start a build on a 72 2wd. I want similar seats to the ones you have. Do you have any more details on making them fit and hooking the wiring up? I'm interested in the front and rear seat setup that you have.
Thanks. Last edited by 99-LS1-SS; 04-11-2011 at 04:18 PM. |

Nice looking build! Just read through it all - pretty impressive stuff. I'm local too (Castro Valley) and am looking for a good media blaster. What was the company called in Livermore that did your frame?
I like the wheels too - bought the same set a couple weeks ago ![]() ![]() Anyways, hope to see you around the east bay sometime. |

Re: 1972 Blazer 5.3 E85/ NV4500 5spd 4x4 Build
Very Slowwwwwwwly haha they are power seats- and it leaves enough room for someone really small to get by. the easiest way for people to get in back is to go between my front seats or jump up on the tire and over the bedsides.

Some semi recent pics from the 4th of July. The Flag itself flew over Fallujah, Iraq in an F-18. The blazer held it proudly.

Re: 1972 Blazer 5.3 E85/ NV4500 5spd 4x4 Build
The aftermarket cowl hood didnt fit worth a sh*t so i ended up having to cut it.
Before, the rear of the hood was too wide to fit between the fenders. here you can see my sharpie line of the material i needed to remove ![]() i cut straight down the hoods edge and removed abt 1/8"-3/16" from each side and tacked closed ![]() Finished edge and near perfect body gap ![]() ![]() Had to have someone come and help install the windshield, boy what a bear to install with the stainless trim. well worth the money but i ended up having to help the whole time! oh well at least i now know another how to. ![]() The blazer and i took a drive this morning... This is me gettin her loaded on the trailer. (hint: bodywork is completely finito) ![]() pics tomorrow of how it turned out.

Nice job on the hood gap - so am I correct in assuming it is at the painter now?
