How do I store new bed wood......
I just bought a wooden bed kit for ole Bell and I won't be able to get to the staining part for a couple of weeks. I know that I should put something on it right away but time just won't allow it. How should I store it? It's in a cardboard box right now in my garage.
Bell72 Thanks in advance............ |

As long as it is kept dry and at a consistent temperature, you should be good to go.

Re: How do I store new bed wood......
Make sure you support it in several places also. It's usually best to store it off the floor with some 2X4 cribbing.Water can wick thru concrete.

Re: How do I store new bed wood......
Being the redneck that I am, I'd just store it in the living room.
No big temperature, or humidity swings there.

Re: How do I store new bed wood......
I have NOS bed wood stacked in my garage floor.... I figured the weight of itself would keep it from warping, besides, it was in a basement for 10 or 20 years before that...

Re: How do I store new bed wood......
The kitchen's undergoing an extensive remodel.Everything that should be in cabinets is stacked on the dining room table & floor.
I don't know what Bell72's situation is, but the dining room table whould be fine by my standards.

Nothing redneck about that, slide it under the couch. The wife will never look there. Out of site out of mind.

Did you happen to buy some bed wood and stack in the living room about 5 years ago?

I was just trying to express my attitude about how I face things nowadays. Kind of like: "Don't sweat the petty stuff. Always pet the sweaty stuff." I know you'll get the gist of it. I've been following your trials and tribulations since that a-hole crashed your truck. Because of "Daddy", the judicial system is trying to screw you. But looking at the "big picture", win, or lose, you'll come out on top; simply by becoming a bigger, better person. You are wise beyond your years. I'm done preaching now.

Re: How do I store new bed wood......
not much to look at in this pic, I need to pull it out sometime and clean it up I guess...
Came with my truck when I bought it two years ago. PO found it in his basement, his father had purchased it from the dealer (still has tags on it and packing tape) It's for a longbed but my table saw will take care of that when the time comes.... don't mind that brown piece of wood in their, the NOS stuff is all black
