I need to get a little closer PIC

I have seen this truck sitting here for years. But had forgotten about it until I drove past it again. It is a Fleetside and in sad condition where it sits now. No owner home so I clicked one for now. I need to really go up to it but I don't like to get up into peoples yards without permission. You just don't want to spook a future seller. 58-59 I am not sure. Any ideas on how to tell? David

'59. the side fender emblems are different from a '58. They have a different hood emblem also, but it's probably hiding in the mess.

By the looks of the front fender emblem, it is a '59.

Re: I need to get a little closer PIC

Thanks guys for the replies. I was curious and checked out the difference on the stovebolt site. Bad news is that it is not for sale. I spoke with a gentleman today about the house. It was his ex inlaws who passed away in 1990 and that was their truck. The house has sold two times since and the truck I guess increases the value of the dump of a lot it is parked on. Found some leads on some early fifties trucks around town. I also found a five window at the junk yard. It is on a big chassis but cab wise is pretty complete. I'll keep ya'll posted. David

Too bad David, two doors, a hood and a bed and you would have had a truck!

Re: I need to get a little closer PIC

Today I wasn't that bothered about it. I got a line on a 56 and 54. I also found a 1942 COE that he is not really fond of selling meaning that if you have to ask the price "you can't afford" line. The 56 and the 54 are at 500. I just am deciding which one would not make me feel guilty about spending money on in the future.
Glad it passed. You know it always goes, find one, buy one, and next week you find one twice as nice at half the price. The hunt goes on. David Oh wait, the kicker, the 56 sold for 2g last week and I found out he has a clean small window cab for my 67.

As with all of us money is a factor but that said you will spend a lot less money if you find the model you want that is as close to restored as you can afford. It will usually always be cheaper that way than to do it yourself. Of course you'll miss all the fun of restoration.

Re: I need to get a little closer PIC

I'm still looking. In the mean time the 67 I have will get me through the "without" feeling. I just was on the stovebolt and saw a 41 COE just like the one I saw today. Very COOL. Sorry I don't have pics. New freind of mine and I was greatful for the tour. I will send him here to show you his stuff out of respect. If you like old Ford tin he has it also. 53-55 trucks Ford style. COE Ford also. Dodge panel with Hemi. GTO. Serious crazy field finds all in one spot.
