Where is the fluid coming out of? Did you check your cooler lines going to the radiator?

Re: Transmission WOES! GuRu's needed!
In my case after having the 350 rebuilt with a new converter it let loose lots of fluid. After close inspection it was coming out a small hole I believe on the side. Discovered it must be a weep type hole. As I discovered I had over filled by almost a quart. Since no more problems.

Re: Transmission WOES! GuRu's needed!
I believe its a Th350, the cooler lines are all good. The fluid is coming from the bellhousing area. It's not just a lil fluid, it's like it's being pumped out, when it's overfilled would it do that?

Re: Transmission WOES! GuRu's needed!
overfilled, or filled improperly... either could do this.
Crawl under, and reach to the top of the tranny. You are looking for a metal tube... a small pipe... see if the fluid was spraying from there. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 05-20-2008 at 06:18 AM. |

Re: Transmission WOES! GuRu's needed!
It would have to be DRASTICALLY over filled to puke. I'm gonna guess you have either a cut , or wrong front seal, or crack in converter neck.

Re: Transmission WOES! GuRu's needed!
Clean the neck, and dry it. then fill the converter FULL, let it set for 10-15 minutes. if it gets wet you have a leak.

Re: Transmission WOES! GuRu's needed!
I would bet it is overfilled. Firedogs 350 done the same thing as mine & his didn't quit but on occasion for a week. Even though it appeared to be done for a few days then another cup on the floor. Needs to get the air out of the system.

Re: Transmission WOES! GuRu's needed!
So are you sayin just let it run and pump the excess out? Then check it occasionally? I just don't want to burn up the pump or anything.
