Sloppy Steering Box 2002 Avalanche 2500
Hey Guys, anybody know the cure for a sloppy steering box on a 2002 Avalanche 2500? The guy I bought the truck from said his brother had a simular truck and had the same problem, a new stock box lasted only a few months. He said his brother bought a heavy duty off road racing box from Jegs and that fixed it. He has been unable to contact his brother to find out which unit he bought. Any ideas guys? This truch has been lifted, and has Larger tires and wheels than stock.

Its spooky, but get a friend to wiggle the steering wheel while you lay under the front and watch the bits move. This will frighten you and show which bits move when others don't.
When one bit moves and another doesn't, something at that point is suspect. Weird and general instructions but they will work. |

i'd be looking at getting new idler arms, pitman arm, etc. do a search on the web. cognito motorsports is a common company that deals with these.

Nope don't need any of that. The slop is strictly in the box. Everything else is tight!
