Tires still look good.

Seriously, glad you're OK. After pics don't look as bad as I would have thought, actually.

I thought it was going to be worse too... the pic of the truck on it's roof made it look as if it were crushed...

Went out today and it started up the first try. It had some popping noises, but im sure it was a exhaust leak since the pipes drug the ground pretty badly. Not sure exactly what i want to do with it.

There is a state sponsored program here that is called Aircheck Texas, and they will pay me $3000 for a running (airpolluting) vehicle to get it off the road. May take that route and start with something cheaper

Are there any limitations do that, like how complete the vehicle is ? If not, you could strip of the truck of any useful parts, except what is essential for it to drive. You could give it to them with basically no interior besides the seat, and possibly throw a worthless engine, trans and rear end in there that wouldn't be missed.

Re: Don't you love it when your day starts out wonderfully....

Really doesn't look like more then a weekend worth of body work and some sheep metal replacement.... Nothing a porta power cant fix.... I rolled a tahoe 3 times and welded a used roof on it and bolted 4 doors on it and called it a day.. Yours looks MUCH better, that roof can be fixed..... For real.... dont scrap it.....fix it...

Re: Don't you love it when your day starts out wonderfully....

For the Aircheck program you can't make but so much money a year. You must use the money to purchase a vehicle less than 3 years old. There are only certain cars that will apply and only certain dealers can do it. So you will have to spend $10-$15 k on a vehicle. Just keep it, buy a car that gets good gas milage and fix it back up as you get time and money...

Re: Don't you love it when your day starts out wonderfully....

Thankfully -- you can replace a box body with another, pretty good one for decent coin if you look hard enough (caveat: this is much easier if you like longbeds)

Maybe your frame is still good -- dont scrap it just yet
