Smooth or RUFF?

Since i've been here studying different projects,i came to realize; "It's my turn" With that being said,i'm not sure how i want my finished project!

"Smooth or RUFF"...in reference to the body side mouldings!
There's a few really nice trucks here in both STYLES(some in a PATINA)
Whether it be PATINA'd or an all out SHOW STOPPER. the question still remains...SMOOTH or RUFF?


So chevy riders...HOW YOU LIKE YO 67-72,mouldings or no mouldings?

i dig the mouldings . i think with the right stance it makes a truck POP........

For me it depends on the truck. A plain jane c10 without molding shouldnt get moldings put on it. I wouldnt fill the holes on a cheyanne super either. The real question is what do you like? Look at pics until you find one that just pops out at you and build yours simular.

Man, I've pondered this same question and I agree with original balzer, it really depends on the truck. I've seen some great looking trucks with trim, but really like the clean look of smooth truck as well. I say if it has trim, keep it. If it doesn't have trim, put the money towards making the paint perfectly smooth instead. Just my 2 cents...

It depends on which year moldings and which moldings (top or bottom).

I went with no trim or chrome of any kind. Lots of holes to weld up and that can take a while.

67-68 keep the moldings, other years depend on the truck & color.

If it is a Cheyenne...then moldings. Personaly I dont like moldings cause they will hold water between them and the truck. Causing rust sooner or later.

Smooth is my preference. I have seen a few trucks I like with a chrome lower molding.

I had my truck for 20 some years and it had the upper & bottom moldings. This last time around it went back without them.
I just wanted something differant without buying a new truck.

I prefer the molding , but there awesome trucks either way .

On '67-68, I also prefer the moldings.

I love the elegant snout GM gave these trucks (and Chevelles, etc)
in the late 60's and the moulding package highlighted these great body lines.

On the later LWB's, I like the way the trim adds to the trucks long, sleek appearance.

It's too bad that bright work seems to have become extinct in most late model cars ... other than a plastic rub rail.

I think it depends on the truck, oh, and the person looking at it. One of my '69's has the upper moulding, and I think it looks pretty good on there. The other one didn't have any at all. Still looked good before I tore into it.
