Re: ebay find... am I missing something???

thats their starting bid. but that seems about right. bed needs some good ole body work for sure on the sides. there also isnt any underside pics so you cant see if the sills are good or not

that's about right. actually imho it's a bit much for a steel swb bed that need's that much straightening.

No bids tells me it is priced too high.

Re: ebay find... am I missing something???

Although they sell for more, this one is rough for $900. The floor is bowed and it needs a lot of minor body work.

Re: ebay find... am I missing something???

I bought a complete SWB donor truck for the bed, PB, and discs for 1100... and the bed was straiter than that one. Too high, but I wont be surprised when someone buys it.

Re: ebay find... am I missing something???

you guys all i just have to say is that bed is junk, from the floor to the sides.i will tell you, i buy and sell a lot of parts and i would not drop more the two hundred on that bed.......... see as you all know that it would take a lot of money to get that thing close to where you would be proud to bolt it on your truck. so don't settle for the over inflated ,just because its from california, original paint, one owner,it's only surface rust, pile of junk.. get up off your butt and go out and hunt these trucks down for the parts you want.instead of buying what they are trying to sell you. remeber take it from someone who buys and sells a lot of California parts.if that bed was so good the guy would not sell it.you always hold on to the good stuff. just my opion.

Yep, $500-600 seems more realistic.

Re: ebay find... am I missing something???

I have been shopping around town and found TWO shortbed fleets, ($600.00 and $750.00) and ONE shortbed stepside. ($800.00) Stepside has been reworked, so it is in great shape, and for a great price. (I have dibs on that one)
One fleet is primered, decent shape, and the other, has been made into a trailer. (in somewhat rough shape)

I have discovered that prices are a bit high at times, but some sellers are relying on as to how desperate the buyer is. The right buyer will come along and buy it for the price stated.

Re: ebay find... am I missing something???

i agree, that one is quite rough for 900 bucks, especially in california. maybe in the rustbelt area's it would be more reasonable but definitly not a bargain anywhere.
