Post rear axle swap

I have a 72 3/4 with coils under the rear. The gears are 4.56 what are the other ratios the 3/4's come with. And what is the best way to tell what the ratio is while looking through the bone yards.

You probably have the Corporate/Eaton axle under your truck. You need to find a Dana 60. The best all around gear you can get is in the Dana 60. It would be the 3.54 ratio. It was standard behind all big block 3/4 ton trucks. It was an option when behind any other engine. So if you see a C-20 badged with the 400 engine you would have a 99% chance of it being a Dana 60-3.54 gears.

Someone on the parts board had a rolling frame with Dana 60-3.54 for $100 last week. If I remember it was in the Mid-West.

was not avaialble with anything except certain 400 trucks, couldnt get it with any other engine, and it wasnt an option anyways, it automatically came with certain 400 trucks whther you wanted it or not,

you can find a 4.10 3/4 ton axle, tey are common, look for V8 trucks with either 4 speed or auto tranny

4.56 is not the eaton axle ratio, 4.57 is,,

pretty sure that 3.54 dana only came with the 435cr tranny, which is very uncommon tranny to find, if not rare. i have yet to see one.

good luck
