Re: how rare is this truck?

Your link to the auction sucks dude! It caused the same window to open 35 times consecutively before I could get things shut down!

As far as consoles go....I think both blazers and trucks were of the seatbelt holder variety until a certain year and then they all changed over to the cupholder style.

Re: how rare is this truck?

They are farely rare,I`d say.The guy doesn`t know his trucks too well, though. In his description he touts it as "Cheyenne equipped".You`d think he`s boast aboutit being a better yet CheyenneSuper.I wonder why it doesn`t have the seal and cover for the column installed.Doesn`t he knoe they are missing? It`s a real nice factory truck with the later rallyes and stereo.I`d rather see it with factory full wheelsoners to set off it`s original resto status.

He needs to put some effort into his truck and atleast put the damn screw in the passenger door on the wing window brace.

Finally a nice truck on ebay without the rare "corvette" option.

Re: how rare is this truck?

I agree with 70cstrocket. He should put some effort into a few more details. There are a few issues that hurt this truck in my opinion. The wrong color steering wheel, no wood trim on the door panels, stereo kills it, the antenna is in a wierd spot, crimp on wiring connector under hood at rh fender, get that master cylinder cleaned up, paint defrost vents correct color, something is up with the steering column because it appears to have the wrong hazard flasher knob. 72 used the black one that screws in, not the red one. etc. But it definitely is a sharp truck. I noticed it on ebay too & have been watching it.

It is really nice, but I agree that more time spent on the minor things would be beneficial to his sale.

Re: how rare is this truck?

I know I'm picking, but that's because I'm jealous and don't have more that 20k to spend on a truck, but.....

what the deal with the drivers side headlight bezel? I'm with Tim, the rims and the new radio doesn't help. I'd love to see a factory am-fm there as well as the simulaed 5 bolt hubcaps.....

BUT AGAIN, I'm only saying this 'cause I can't afford it!

i dont think there is anything wrong with the steering wheel its got the right color steerng wheel and since it has a tilt steering column they were all black they were not match painted from the factory

Re: how rare is this truck?

the steering wheel should be black.
As for the hazzard knob, my 72 had the red one... but I don't know if a stock tilt would have a red one.
That looks (without reading it) to be restored out of a catalog. repro door panels, stock ones would have the stainless trim, plus being a cheyanne woulda been woodgrain as pointed out) The woodgrain on the ashtray isn't right...
The console is out of a 76 - 85ish.
Few things not right, but overall a nice truck.
The rallys would look 100X better without the granny white walls.

Re: how rare is this truck?

This is a nice truck, I have seen it in person. It is not a Super...he added those badges. The Super had houndstooth inserts in the seats, as well as the woodgrain door inserts. It is a Cheyenne, and as far as I can tell, it is the original SPID on the glovebox. It would look better with the original wheel covers on it, if he is going to use the whitewall tires. The console is not correct, and he also needs the heat riser tube that connects to the air cleaner. The stereo is not correct, but sounds way better than the stock one. Since he is going for originality though, he should have left the factory radio in place. Not to nit-pick, but for the money he wants, he should have paid attention to details. My truck is almost identical to this one, except it is dark blue two-tone, and a real Super.

Re: how rare is this truck?

Some of you guys are really good noticing the details. All I saw was an awesome truck that I could never afford. I did go back and look at the drivers side headlight bezel and it does look wierd.

My factory parts book shows the black turn signal knob being used in 1971 & 72.

Are you talking about the hazard knob, I thought that was the one in question.

Re: how rare is this truck?

Cheyennes had woodgrained door panels but not wood grained dash or glovebox door- that was reserved for supers/grandes only as was the tailgate handle cover just for the record
