Holy Bad Cab! Batman!

I started stripping out my 69 fleet. I get the cab off. I get a good look at it...and man its bad! Ok there is no fixing this one. Made a good choice in getting rid of that cab.

Inside top

So I go to cutting the front pillars. I figure cut the top off the cab and then cut in two at the bottom and then it will fit in the step. I cut thru the pillars...lift up the top of the cab to make sure I am thru...and then it laid out like a clam! WTF??? I couldnt believe I had been driving that thing around like that everyday!

I had a feeling the one day I was going to be going around a corner...and I was going to be sitting in the street with the cab and the rest of the truck was going down the street without me!!

That cab would have been good for another 100,000 miles.... Or so...

I agree... when you start cutting and messing with the structure of the cab and you dont use braces all it can do is crumble

My friend and I went to go test drive a s-10 in Galveston a long time ago. The outside looked good untile you looked under the truck. The frame was all rusted and the body mounts were rusted out. We were young and stupid and decided to test drive it for fun. after a few corners you can hear and feel the cab landing on the frame. It felt like a roller coaster ride.

Yep, they are giving 150% of Kelly Blue Book value on a new Toyota truck.

Re: Holy Bad Cab! Batman!

I thinking at work today that I really need a trailer to haul stuff in since I got the stepper home. I decided to make one out of the bed of this truck. I am going to pull my 12 bolt posi out and replace it with the 12 bolt non posi that is under the other frame now.By sunday night...I will have a trailer.
