Wrong Wiring Diagram for my chevy 6.2
I bought the 1985 shop manual for my Chevy blazer. When the rewiring started I noticed someting was wrong. My blazer is sold as a 1985, but the VIN says it's a 1984. Sad but true! Now I own a shop manual for a 1985, and that goes a long way, but not for the diesel engine wiring.
Therefore I'm wondering if someone has the 1984 version of the engine wiring diagram? |

What part of the wiring are you working on? There is a good diesel website I know of and I will post the link when I get home.

I'm working on the complete engine wiring, with sensors, solenoids, fuelfilter, glowsystem, ac, etc etc. And I'm also working on the under dash harness. The dash wiring diagrams looks ok, but there are some minor differences. Looking forward to the link |

Re: Wrong Wiring Diagram for my chevy 6.2
Is the wiring all cut up? I don't remember there being many differences (if any) between 84 and 85. The only things I can think of that might be different is the fuel filter on the firewall and the glowplug controller system. The only other catch would be depending on the transmission. If it has a 700R4 there is a throttle position switch and if it has a TH-400 there is a vacuum switch type thingy (not sure what its called) instead.
The Site I went to when I was working on my diesel projects...my 85 Suburban and a friends 83 shortbed truck...was www.dieselplace.com. Pretty soon I will be taking on another Suburban project, I will be acquiring an 86 diesel suburban for my girlfriend to drive... I converted my 85 to a manual transmission and she doesn't like driving it because the clutch hurts her ankle. The 86 is a 3/4ton 4x4 that needs an engine swap. Right now I'm saving the $$$ to buy it and the spare engine from my friend.

Re: Wrong Wiring Diagram for my chevy 6.2
Yes the wiring is all cut up, disconnected, missing and looks more or less like spagetti
And yes, the fuelfilter connections and glow wiring is different on an 84 and an 85. F.ex. on an 85 you got the glow controller and relay in one piece, but on an 84 you got separate controller and relay. My transmission is a TH400, should be a TH700, but it has been swapped some time before i bought it. The swap is badly done and I got a lot of wiring and vacuum to figure out.
